I , or even the hundredth. By the time I uploaded my first video, YouTube was already a crowded sea of vloggers, gamers, beauty gurus, and tech reviewers. I had no niche, no gear, no strategy — just a cracked phone camera and a stubborn dream.
My early videos barely touched double digits. Friends said it was a waste of time. Family called it a “phase.” But something in me refused to quit. I watched tutorials late into the night, taught myself editing, and kept uploading — one awkward video at a time.
Months passed. Then years. Still, I straggled behind while others blew up overnight. Algorithms didn’t favor me. Comments were scarce. But the few that came in — “This helped me,” “Please make more” — they kept me alive.
I learned to celebrate the small wins: a new subscriber, a collab offer, a video with 1k views. Slowly, painfully, I found my voice. My content sharpened. My audience grew — not fast, but steadily.
Now, I’m not famous. I’m not rich. But I’ve built a loyal little tribe. I get messages from people across the world. I’ve turned passion into purpose, even if it didn’t go viral.
Being a YouTube straggler taught me something fame can’t: patience, grit, and the joy of slow success. And if you ask me now, was it worth it? Every single unviewed video — yes, it was.
